Bio

As the Volunteer Impact Manager, I am responsible for developing and executing Rise Against Hunger’s expanded volunteer program through the creation and facilitation of mutually beneficial partnerships between volunteers and the organization. I work to expand the volunteer lifecycle at Rise Against Hunger, taking volunteers beyond the commitment of a one-time meal packaging event in order to create lasting partnerships with growth potential in additional development segments and giving portfolios.

College + University Engagement: Market Research

Rise Against Hunger is growing a global movement to end world hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives, and responding to emergencies. We recognize that hunger will not end without creating a global movement and engage hundreds of thousands of volunteers and advocates each year to build awareness and activation. We want to better understand the motivations of college and university students to engage them in our mission better and create impactful opportunities for involvement. We would like to understand this market and audience better to uniquely position ourselves within the nonprofit sector. Our efforts to date have included (with limited success): The creation of a social media ambassador program (current) Hosting volunteer engagement activities with college campuses (ongoing and seasonal) Some social media posts Your efforts will help us create long-term, transformational volunteering opportunities for college and university students worldwide to increase our collective impact by providing more resources to people facing food insecurity in the world's most vulnerable populations. The research will include: Target market research through the college and university lens Strategies around potential engagement opportunities How to incentivize long-lasting engagement Engage with our donor base to drive additional funding opportunities Strategic positioning from a student's perspective to grow our movement to end hunger
