critical thinking project management interviewing skills research report writingSkilled, motivated students from Red River College's Game Development program are ready to support your project.
Students in the Game Development program are trained to tackle both creative and technical challenges in collaborative, team-based environments. With a strong emphasis on hands-on learning, students build real games as part of their training, developing a portfolio that reflects their capabilities in design, development, and production. Supported by experienced faculty, they’re prepared to contribute to meaningful, industry-relevant projects.
Participating employers gain access to curious, capable, and career-ready students who are eager to apply their skills to meaningful challenges. Projects are divided into three distinct phases, each requiring 60 hours of student work. Upon completing each phase, students are paid a $1,400 stipend—fully covered through Riipen and the Government of Canada’s Innovative Work-Integrated Learning (I-WIL) Initiatives program. There is no cost to you.

To validate completion, students submit deliverables as uploaded files with a reflection note. Tangible proof or samples of completed work are necessary, with redacted deliverables if under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
Project Examples
Requirements
We’re seeking real-world game development projects that challenge students to apply their technical and creative skills in meaningful ways. Ideal projects involve designing and developing game prototypes, refining gameplay mechanics, creating immersive environments, improving user interfaces, or enhancing player experience. Projects may also include tasks like implementing game logic, debugging, asset integration, or exploring emerging technologies in gaming.
Projects should have clear goals, defined deliverables, and opportunities for students to contribute to your vision while gaining practical, portfolio-worthy experience in the game development process.
