Overview
Learner goals and capabilities

We are looking to place Administrative Assistant students from Red River College as your virtual interns, in a project-based experience. Students are available for 4-weeks 160 hours from September 13-October 8 2021. Practicums require full-time hours and are unpaid. Students can complete many projects that are related to on-line and phone communication, booking meetings, sorting and distribution, filing, research, event planning, event promotions, simple accounting, dispatch and organization.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Project deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the project. Students must complete 160 hours of placement by Oct. 8, 2021. Example of deliverables include but are not limited to:

1. Dispatch/scheduling

2. Research/promotional material

3. Social Media updates

4. Organization/events

Project Examples

Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the internship, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.

Project examples that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Completion of paperwork
  2. Filing
  3. Research
  4. Data analysis
  5. Journaling of transactions
  6. Client connection
